  • Soak the Teacher!

    Thu 13 Jul 2023

Year 6 would like to send their thanks to all children and their families for the support and funds raised over the last 3 weeks. As part of their enterprise, Y6 were encouraged to sell, handle money and then purchase items for their leavers party. An outstanding £327 has been counted and plans for the party are well underway. We are so pleased to be able to offer a Hawaiian beach party that pupils will remember for a long time to come. Again, thank you so much to our Holy Family 'family' - these plans would not have been possible without your continued support at each ice cream sale and the soak the teacher raffle. Such an amazing day yesterday as part of St Matthew class fundraising for their leaver party!

'Soak the Teacher ' is now in its third year and children had the opportunity to purchase a raffle ticket in the hope they could choose a teacher and cover them with a bucket of water!  The sun was a welcome relief for the brave teachers and the enthusiasm from the pupils was wonderful! Thank you again for all your support....roll on next year!

    Dear Parent/Guardian,

It is with our great pleasure to inform you that KAMT is returning to Holy Family catholic primary school to offer the students an after school Musical Theatre club in term 1 (September).

Here are the details for this fabulous club:

    What: MUSICAL THEATRE CLUB

Description: Students in this club will explore Musical Theatre through rehearsing a small extract of a scene from a musical which leads into a song and dance/movement piece. Students will perform this short extract to parents at the end of the term. Children will have lines and lyrics to learn and this will be expected of them outside the class.

    When: Wednesdays 3.30pm – 4.30pm.

Cost: £5 a week paid upfront for Term 1

What to wear: School PE Kit (your child will need to get changed in the classroom before coming to the main hall)

    Where: Main Hall

What to bring: Please ensure your child brings a bottle of water and a small folder or plastic wallet for any lyrics or scripts.

  • School Dog - your comments please

    Thu 04 May 2023

    4th May 2023

    Dear parents,

    Introducing a school dog

We will be introducing a ‘school dog’ to Holy Family School and are very keen to hear your thoughts to help us finalise how this will be managed in school.  We have a clear policy awaiting approval from the Academy Committee and we have ensured that all relevant insurances are in place prior to proceeding with this new initiative. The policy can be found on the school website, here: https://primarysite-prod-sorted.s3.amazonaws.com/the-holy-family-catholic-primary/UploadedDocument/9a8f13d4-5545-4156-85d7-78c548c331a1/school-dog-policy-hf-awaiting-approval.pdf

Charlie is Mrs Kershaw’s family pet dog.  He is a 2 year old Cockapoo. He has been living with the Kershaw family since he was 8 weeks old. Charlie is a very calm and well-behaved dog who loves children. Cockapoo dogs are known for responding well to training and for being good with children.  They shed very little hair and are very sociable and friendly. Charlie has the right temperament and character to become a real asset to Holy Family School and to enhance the overall experience of our children.

Through having contact with a dog, children can benefit educationally and emotionally, increase their understanding of responsibility and develop empathy and nurturing skills. In addition to these benefits, children take great enjoyment from interaction with a dog.  Having a school dog has had a positive impact on attendance in other schools.

Parents are invited to give their feedback via this link – this should only take a few moments.  https://forms.office.com/e/PK27FvwHSJ

Please complete your feedback no later than 10th May.

Please don’t hesitate to catch us at the school gate should you wish to ask anything further.

    Kind regards

    Mrs Underhill                                        Mrs Kershaw
