Term 1

Our topic was ‘Ourselves’.

During this topic we made friends and learnt each other’s names. We found out what we liked to do and what made us happy and sad.

Our books this term have been The Funny bones, Titch, Elmer and The Owl Babies. These have provided lots of opportunities for discussion and making.

As the weather has been so good we have also been outside lots – we have explored the school grounds using our senses, we have made nests for the owl babies and we have made faces using leaves and chestnuts.

We have also grown Cress as part of our week reading Titch. We predicted what would happen and then watched each day as the cress grew.

As part of our RE we have been exploring the topic of ‘Ourselves’ and we have been looking at how we can help other people. We made a harvest box and bought in lots of food for the food bank and we also decorated biscuits for the Macmillan Coffee Morning.
