The Mini-Vinnies at Holy Family

Mini-Vinnies

What are the Mini Vinnies?

‘Mini Vinnies’ is the name for a St Vincent de Paul Group for primary aged children. We get  together to organise and talk about helping others in need within our school community and the local area.

What happens at a Mini Vinnies’ meeting?

Mrs Smith and Mrs Underhill co-ordinate the group, giving us help and advice on the practicalities of our deas.

  • The president opens the meeting with a prayer
  • A short spiritual reading/ reflection/ piece of music/ meditation follows the prayer.
  •  Group members then talk about the Mini Vinnies' activities that have taken place since the previous meeting. Any future plans are then discussed, shared and actioned.

Book Swap

Our 1st book swap took place this term in the school hall.  Led by our  ‘Mini’-Vinnies’ group, our intention of ensuring all pupils had the opportunity to take a new book home to read was very successful.  The book swap will take place every two weeks.
