Admission to Reception Class September 2027

Application to Holy Family Catholic Primary School
Entrance September 2027 (if your child was born between 1 September 2022 and 31 August 2023):
Applications for places will open with KCC in November 2026. The closing date for online application will be January 2027. Further detail can be found by following this link.
You can apply for up to 3 schools, putting them in order of preference. It's in your best interests to list 3 schools. Naming only one school does not guarantee your child a place at that school or give your child priority for a place over another child, neither does naming a school more than once.
Holy Family Catholic Primary School requires a supplementary form (SIF) in addition to the KCC online application. This is available to download at the bottom of the page (key information section) or can be collected from the school office during school hours.
Once completed, the supplementary form must be returned to the school office no later than the closing date 15th January 2025, with any relevant Baptism Certificates.
A supplementary form is required for all applications for a place in school, irrespective of religious belief, to ensure the correcting ranking position is applied, should the school be oversubscribed.
Applications are processed by KCC between January 2027 and March 2027.
An email will be sent from KCC in April 2027, after 4pm, confirming places for the September 2027 intake. You can log into your online application after 5pm to view your offer.

Admissions Appeals
Parents whose applications for places are unsuccessful, may appeal to an Independent Appeal Panel set up in accordance with sections 88 and 94 of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998.
If your child is due to start primary school in September 2027, you can appeal if you are refused a place at one of your preferred schools on National Offer Day.
You must submit your appeal before May 2027 for it to be considered by July 2027. Any appeals received after this time will be heard within 40 school days from the deadline, or where reasonably possible in line with updated guidance from the Department for Education.
For appeals related to in year applications, appeals will be heard within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.
Admission Appeals Timetable 2026-2027
- Deadline for Lodging Appeals: Monday, May 17, 2027 (Appeals must be submitted by this date to be considered "on time").
- Kent Reallocation Day: Thursday, May 27, 2027 (No appeals can be heard prior to this date).
- Hearing Window: On-time appeals are bundled and heard by an independent panel, typically concluding by late July 2027 (before the end of the school summer term).
