The Curriculum at Holy Family:

Inspired by the example of Jesus Christ and the Gospel values, our curriculum nurtures and develops the whole child. We recognise every pupil as a unique individual, made in the image and likeness of God and seek to develop the knowledge, skills, confidence and self-belief they need to fulfil their God-given potential.

At Holy Family, every child has access to a rich, ambitious and challenging curriculum that is broad, balanced and carefully sequenced. Learning builds progressively on what pupils already know and can do, developing secure knowledge and skills while fostering curiosity, creativity and a lifelong love of learning.

Our curriculum is designed to develop pupils’ cultural literacy, providing them with the knowledge, vocabulary and experiences they need to understand the world around them, engage confidently with others and access future learning. Through literature, history, geography, science, the arts, religion and the wider curriculum, we broaden pupils’ horizons and ensure that all children have access to a rich body of knowledge and cultural experiences.

As a Catholic school, Catholic Social Teaching is woven throughout our curriculum and daily school life. Pupils learn to recognise the dignity of every person, care for creation, support those in need and understand their responsibility to contribute positively to their communities and the wider world.

Our curriculum prepares pupils for the next stage of their education and for life beyond Holy Family. We want our children to leave us as knowledgeable, confident and compassionate young people who are ready to continue learning, contribute to society and use their gifts and talents to help create a better world.

We value parents and carers as partners in their children’s education and provide opportunities throughout the year for families to understand, engage with and support learning.
