Term 3 2023-24

Welcome to Term 3

We hope you had a lovely Christmas Holiday break. As we start this new term and new year, here are just a few reminders of expectations and any new bits information you may need.

PE is now on a FRIDAY

Children should be wearing the school PE : Yellow T-Shirt, Blue Shorts and Trainers. As this terms focus is on DANCE we will be in the hall, so no need for outdoor wear. Please could we ask that if tights are being worn, to add in a pair of socks to the kit to help keep their feet from hurting in their trainers. If for any reason they are unable to participate in that weeks lesson, could we ask for a written note in their contact books signed by an adult, to avoid any confusion.

Homework --

Homework consists of:

  • Daily 20 minutes reading, signed by a adult in their contact book
  • Weekly spellings - Given out every Friday
  • Online Maths Tasks and Time Table games on MathShed - Set every Friday

RE: We have been exploring spontaneous prayer this term in year 5. We have enjoyed finding out about the five different types of prayer and how we can implement them in our every day prayers.

Science: Hovercraft using Air Resistance

RE: The Family Trust Assembly

PE: Dance

RE: We have continued our exploration into a deeper understanding of prayer and how important it is to our faith. We revisited our Gospel Values and Catholic Social Teaching Display boards to remind ourselves the different aspects of Catholic life we can incorporate into our own prayers. From this we had a very successful planning session for our PAL’s that we perform in class each week.

Science: Friction - Book Separation

Maths: As a class, we have been looking at multiplication and division the last few weeks, and although we found this challenging, we did all understand the methods to be able to apply them to problem solving.

RE: Comparing Dioceses in the Catholic Church
