Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Holy Family was very lucky today as Father Christmas found time in his very busy schedule to visit in time for breakfast. After cereal and toast he took the time to meet every child individually and wish them a very ' Merry Christmas'. Santa's Elf came too and was amazing knowing every child's name which definitely bought a smile to everyone's face. Truly a very special moment and memory for pupils and staff. Thank you Father Christmas and all the staff who helped to coordinate this amazing visit for our delighted pupils.

It was wonderful yesterday to be able to celebrate the EYFS and KS1 Nativity with parents in the school hall. St Mary class sang 'Away in a Manger' beautifully and St Catherine and St Martin class performed a very professional version of the story of Christmas. They were so enthusiastic with their speaking and singing, it bought a tear to a few eyes! Congratulations to all concerned.
The cries of 'Oh no they didn't, Oh yes they did!' and ' He's behind you!' rang out in the school hall this afternoon as Shooting Stars Productions brought the pantomime 'Aladdin' to school. From reception class to year 6 the laughter rang out as we were led through the wonderful story of Aladdin, The Lamp, Ebenezer (booo!) and Jasmine.
This was new experience for many of our pupils and will definitely be one that we aim to repeat next year. Oh yes we will!

Severe Snow/Ice Plan for Parents and Families
The Local Authority advises us to send information out annually to parents/carers.
‘Schools should, wherever possible, stay open in severe weather. They play a key role in their communities and by staying open help both their pupils and parents.’ –Department for Education
Every winter brings the possibility of snow and ice. Extreme bad weather can cause widespread and prolonged disruption. Schools are often affected and it can be difficult to maintain an education service.
As a fundamental principle every effort must be made to keep a school open, even if only limited numbers of pupils can attend. However, schools may close due to ‘unavoidable’ circumstances. Those circumstances being that it is no longer safe for staff or pupils to be onsite.
Our school will make every effort to prepare for severe snow/ice this winter and the normal expectation should be that the school is open. If we do experience severe weather resulting in hazardous and unsafe conditions, we may have to take the decision to close the school. Once a decision is made to close, we will:
If the school is forced to close during the day, we will immediately post a message on the website and send a message to parents via text/email.
If the school is open, but that you feel the journey is not safe for your child, please contact the school to report the absence in the usual manner.
Please be aware that if the school is open, absence may be considered unauthorised.
Many of you will be aware from recent news reports of the increased prevalence of Group A Streptococcus infection (including Scarlet Fever, & Impetigo) currently occurring in young people within the UK. Please be assured that most Group A Streptococcus illnesses are relatively mild.
The link below you will take you to a document full information and advice from the UKHSA (UK Health Security Agency) about Group A Streptococcus illnesses, including details of the early symptoms of these illnesses that you should look out for, together with advice on what you should do if your child becomes unwell with any of the symptoms.
As always, if your child is unwell with any illness, we ask that they remain at home until they are well enough to resume their normal activities.
