  • Stargazing event - booking open for KS2 pupils

    Thu 19 Jan 2023

On 9th March 2023 Holy Family and The Ogden Trust will be holding its second stargazing event. The event for will take place on the school field and in the school hall from 18:30 – 20:00 and is for both KS2 children and parents.

During the event you will learn about the different stars and planets that are visible in the night skies above Maidstone. There will also be lots of guidance about how to become a stargazer/astronomer. Children must be accompanied by one responsible adult only.

Everyone must wrap up warm because we will spend a significant amount of the evening outside. If it is cloudy/wet the event will still go ahead. There will be lots of fun, space themed activities for children to take part in even if we are not able to observe the stars and planets.

There will be places for 30 children. If demand exceeds this number, then names will be drawn out of a hat. Children who do not get a place will be placed on a waiting list (if you receive a place but are no longer able to come please let the school know so your place can be reallocated).

Cost is being subsidised by the PFA and the Ogden Trust so pupils will be asked to only pay £2 for this event, via ParentPay. Successful pupils will be advised to allow parents to pay prior to attending the event. Please return slips by 10th February 2023. Payment goes live on 22nd February 2023

We look forward to exploring space with you on the 15th March!

    Kind regards,

    Mrs Brenton

Year 5 class teacher and science lead
