Term 2

GANGS Workshop

We have been very lucky to have the people from St Giles come in to give a talk on how to keep safe and what makes a good citizen. We found it very informative and gave us time to think about our own actions.

Black History Week

We have spent time exploring the life of the inspirational Rosa Parks.

Called "the mother of the civil rights movement," Rosa Parks invigorated the struggle for racial equality when she refused to give up her bus seat to a white man in Montgomery, Alabama. Parks' arrest on December 1, 1955 launched the Montgomery Bus Boycott by 17,000 black citizens. What an amazing lady!

We had so much fun creating a narrative poem based on her life. We worked in table groups, each taking a stanza, to form a collective writing piece.

Mini Vinnies

For our first event this term we held a book swap.
