This term we will be exploring Anthony Horowitz's creative take on the spy world in Alex Rider: Stormbreaker.
We will also be investigating the vibrant country of Japan in our topic lessons - learning all bout the culture, climate, the physical features and flora and fauna. We will even get to see ,in real time, any earthquakes that are happening in that very moment (How interesting!).
During our RE lessons this term, we will be continuing to find out how and why Jesus' mission began. Reflecting on the importance in connection with our own lives today.
We have been very lucky to have Jo from Kent Fire and Rescue come in to talk with us. I was very interesting at how many things we could change in our daily lives to help prevent fires in our home .e.g. not charging phones at night or closing doors when go to sleep at night. We even went through the STOP, DROP and ROLL and how to act if you have been burnt using the COOL, CALL AND COVER method.
Reminder: Smoke alarms should be test EVERY week!
RE: COMMUNITY
We are starting this term with gaining knowledge and understanding about our Catholic community and our roles within it. We will be reflecting on why Jesus started his mission and exploring the impact it had then and now in our daily lives. We will also be investigating our own diocese and comparing it to others around the country, to create a deeper understanding of how Jesus’ mission shapes how we live our life in today’s society.
”For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.”
1 Corinthians 12: 12
Meaning the church is one body made up of different individuals who have placed their faith in Jesus.
