For one week in term 4, the writing in every class was based upon a different one of ‘The Bard’s’ plays:
The week culminated in a Shakespearian ‘Mexican Wave’, with every class learning and performing a famous quote from their chosen play.
We held a Poetry Jam for all of our children where we were able to (thankfully) sit together outside and share a range of performances across all of our year groups.
From Reception's class effort, to individual performances in our older year groups, we all got to learn about poetry and poetic form that spanned so many different genres.
Many of our children elaborated their performances with actions and particular phrasing and pace to engage the audience and bring meaning to some difficult but interesting figurative devices.
Well done, everyone!
